Maddie arrived in Gettysburg at 10:30 am. on a beautiful sunny day. General Reynolds was killed at about that time during the early moments of the battle. We started the tour at McPherson's Ridge. That was the site of the First Day's Battle. On the ridge is the Marker of the 11th Pennsylvania Infantry. Sallie Ann's Statue is right there. You have to get out of the car to see Sallie Ann because her statue can not be seen from the tour road. It has been said that Sallie Ann was with her Regiment for all three days of the battle. She survived through all the killing.
