The Battle of Bunker Hill
We went to visit Bunker Hill. On June 17, 1775 the Colonials fought a courageous battle against the British Redcoats. Colonel William Prescott was in charge of the Colonial forces. Two weeks after the battle George Washington arrived to take over-all command. |

Dr. Joseph Warren, a leading Boston physician sent Paul Revere on his famous ride to warn the colonials that the "British are coming!" He fought in the battle and was killed by the Redcoats. Dr. Warren was one of the organizers of the Minute Men - the fighting Colonials. They were called Minute Men because they could be ready to fight in a minute. |
