Maddie's fourth Battlefield Trip was to the great battle at
Fredericksburg, Virginia. Maddie wanted to walk along where Uncommon
Valor was common place. This was one of the bloodiest battles of the
Civil War. We walked around beautiful Chatham Manor, climbed Marye's
Heights, explored Prospect Hill, and felt like a General on Lee's
Hill. Here we will guide you to the few remaining sites of this
battlefield. Not much is left of this great Civil War Battlefield but,
we hope you can feel the spirit and emotion that captured our family
as we pay tribute to the many fallen great warriors here. Of course,
they were all Americans, North & South.
This battle was fought on December 11-15, 1862 |
